Cookie Policy
Last updated May 24, 2025
This Cookie Policy explains how the Stormy Butterfly Foundation uses cookies and similar technologies in connection with our sites.
What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are text files that websites store on a visitor's device to identify the visitor's browser uniquely, or to store information or settings that help you navigate between pages efficiently, remember your preferences, enable functionality, help us understand activity and patterns, and facilitate online advertising.
Local storage technologies, like HTML5, provide cookie-equivalent functionality but can store larger amounts of data, including on your device outside your browser, in connection with specific applications.
Web beacons, also known as pixel tags or clear GIFs, demonstrate that a webpage or email was accessed or opened, or that certain content was viewed or clicked.
How do we use cookies and other similar technologies?
We, our service providers, and our advertising partners automatically log information about your interactions with our sites and communications, such as:
- Device information, such as computer or mobile device operating system type and version, manufacturer and model, browser type, screen resolution, device type, IP address, unique identifiers (including identifiers used for advertising purposes), language settings, mobile carrier, network information, and general location information such as city, state, or geographic area.
- Online activity information, such as pages or screens viewed, time spent on a page or screen, referring website, navigation paths, access times and duration, and whether you open our marketing emails or click links within them.
We also allow our advertising partners to collect this information through our sites. This Cookie Policy refers to all these technologies collectively as "cookies."
What types of cookies do we use?
- Essential. Necessary to allow the technical operation of our sites (for example, to move around a website and use its features).
- Functionality / performance. Used to enhance the functionality and performance of our sites.
- Analytics. Used to help us understand how our sites are performing and being used, including third-party analytics tools such as New Relic and Google Analytics. Google Analytics collects information about how users use our sites, which we use to compile reports that disclose trends without identifying individual visitors. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the browser plug-in at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Advertising. Used by us and our third-party advertising partners to collect information about how you use our sites and serve online ads that may be relevant to your interests.
How can you control the use of cookies?
Other than essential cookies, which are required for our sites to operate, you can limit online tracking by:
- Blocking cookies in your browser. Most browsers let you remove or reject cookies, including those used for interest-based advertising. For more information, visit https://www.allaboutcookies.org.
- Blocking advertising ID use in your mobile settings, which can limit use of the advertising ID associated with your device for interest-based advertising purposes.
- Using privacy-focused browsers or plug-ins, such as Brave, Privacy Badger, Ghostery, or uBlock Origin, configured to block third-party cookies and trackers.
- Using industry opt-out tools, such as the Digital Advertising Alliance (optout.aboutads.info) or the Network Advertising Initiative (optout.networkadvertising.org), or the platform opt-out features offered directly by advertising partners such as Google, LinkedIn, Bing, Facebook, and Twitter.
Because these opt-out mechanisms are specific to the device or browser on which they are exercised, you will need to opt out on every browser and device that you use.
Do Not Track
Some internet browsers can be configured to send "Do Not Track" signals to the online services you visit. We currently do not respond to "Do Not Track" or similar signals. To find out more, visit https://www.allaboutdnt.com.
